Rosa Giucci - Italy
I’m Miss Rosa Giucci, do you remember me? Tomorrow I leave Boston. I have had good days with my host family: Charlotte is a polite woman. She helped me with everything I needed and I think she has considered me like a daughter. Tyler is an adorable child, he is so intelligent, and sometimes he corrects my sentences in English. We often play together and when I come back from school he runs to me and gives me a big kiss. Sarah, the housekeeper, is a very nice woman and she cooks very well. I love her salads, hamburgers, and she cooks pesto for me. She knows I am from Italy, my parents, and my cooking. I prepared a sauce for “fettucine” and the family likes this.

Nina Linduska - Austria
Dear Joshua, I am Nina Linduska. I did a rotation at the Children’s Hospital in Boston in June. I recently finished my homestay with Holly Zalinger. I just want to say that I appreciated so much being in Holly’s home. She is so open-minded and thoughtful. I liked my time in Boston very much.
Sincerely, Nina Linduska |
Director of Comprehensive ID Products, Inc. - USA
Dear Mrs. Cohen As you will note from the dates of various letters, copies of which I’ve enclosed for your records, my letter writing to close out all the matters pertaining to Dennis got pushed aside. Unfortunately, with daily business demands, travel schedules, vacation plans with my own family, etc … I never got to finish what I had set out to do earlier. Your letter of July 27th reminded me to pick up where I left off.
Enough excuses! I certainly want to acknowledge the appreciation expressed to me by both Dennis and his family for the very special interest and concern you have and continue to display for Dennis’ well-being and continued development here in the Boston area. It is through this kind of sincere expression of assistance that international students such as Dennis develop those ever-so-important first feelings of warmth and welcome to our country. You really know how to set the stage for understanding and a comfortable and secure learning environment with a host family.

Richard Jonas - USA
Dear Mr. Bucerius, I am not sure what housing arrangements you made during your elective term with us last year. However, I strongly recommend the “At Home in Boston” program. With this program you have the opportunity to live with a host family in a home which is easily accessible to the medical area by public transportation. The costs of this program are quite minimal, relative to the expense of living in alternative accommodations such as local guest houses and hotels.
We look forward to having you here next summer.
Yours Sincerely, Richard A. Jonas, M.D. Children’s Hospital, Boston |
Jacques Bovet - Canada
Dear Mrs. Cohen, In order for me to close the accounting of my sabbatical leave, I would appreciate receiving from you a receipt for my “enrollment fee” with your organization. I would also like to seize this opportunity to thank you again for your help in locating Polly Shakespeare’s home for me: you could hardly have found a better place!
Yours Sincerely, Jacques Bovet Professor of Biology

Thierry Tanny - France
Dear Mrs. Cohen, I would like to thank you for helping me to find an accommodation in Boston during these three months of internship. Thanks to you, I met a nice family who permitted me to spend my internship in excellent conditions. Because of their knowledge of France, especially Natalie's, I could exchange a lot of ideas about my country. Also, Natalie and Chuck explained it all to me, and I discovered your country, your way of life, your national or local problems, etc.
